GNR are one of the most iconic and influential rock bands in Portugal. Founded in Porto in 1980, they quickly became a defining force thanks to their irreverent attitude and distinctive fusion of styles, blending rock and pop with punk and new wave influences. From the outset, their ironic, sharp and often biting lyrics captured public attention by reflecting Portuguese society with wit and intelligence.

Over more than four decades, Rui Reininho, Tóli César Machado, Jorge Romão and their bandmates have built a timeless catalogue filled with anthems that continue to resonate across generations, including Dunas, Efectivamente and Pronúncia do Norte. These songs became enduring classics of Portuguese music and helped the band maintain a loyal and constantly renewed fan base.
