Hoobastank return to Rock in Rio Lisboa with the energy,
emotion and nostalgia that defined a generation.
Hoobastank bring 2000s nostalgia to the Super Bock Stage on June 21.
Fourteen years after their last appearance at the festival, Hoobastank return to Rock in Rio Lisboa with the energy, emotion and nostalgia that defined a generation. The band joins the renewed Super Bock Stage, now entering a new era focused on closeness, authenticity and the unique connection between artists and audiences.
Formed in 1994, Hoobastank quickly built a strong bond with fans through their fusion of ska, funk and rock, and their high-energy live performances. The friendship between Doug Robb and Dan Estrin gave rise to a band that became one of the standout names of the 2000s — a relevance they continue to hold as new generations discover their vibrant sound.
Their breakthrough came with their self-titled debut album Hoobastank (2001), featuring the platinum-certified singles Crawling in the Dark, Running Away and Remember Me. Two years later, The Reason brought the band worldwide recognition, with the title track becoming a true anthem: surpassing 1.35 billion Spotify streams and 1 billion YouTube views, placing it in the Billions Club alongside AC/DC, The Beatles, Whitney Houston and Elton John.
Even two decades later, The Reason remains a cultural phenomenon, fuelled by viral TikTok trends (#NotAPerfectPerson) and prominent features in series such as Beef (Netflix), Building The Band, The Boys (Amazon) and We Are Lady Parts (Peacock). These moments helped the band reach more than 12 million monthly listeners across streaming platforms.
After celebrating the 20th anniversary of The Reason and releasing a special remake edition in 2024, Hoobastank now return to Rock in Rio Lisboa ready to deliver an energetic, emotional and nostalgia-filled performance on the Super Bock Stage.
