Carolina Deslandes makes her debut on the World Stage on June 22nd
01.25.2024
The Portuguese singer-songwriter opens the World Stage on a day where Ivete Sangalo and James have already been confirmed.
With a close connection to Rock in Rio, Carolina Deslandes is taking another step in her already consolidated career this year: the artist, who is already one of the greatest references of the current generation of Portuguese singers and songwriters, will perform for the first time on the festival's World Stage. In addition to her concerts at Rock in Rio Lisbon in 2018 (in the Galp Music Valley) and 2019 (in the festival's 15th anniversary edition, in the Jardins da Torre de Belém), and at Rock in Rio Brazil, also in 2019, alongside the Brazilian band Melim, Carolina Deslandes will do opening honours on the World Stage in 2024, followed by Ivete Sangalo, thus kicking off the 12 hours of partying promised for 22 June in the best possible way. The first Portuguese pop artist to fill the Altice Arena has had a meteoric career with astronomical sales and streaming figures, establishing herself as one of the biggest references not only in the digital universe, but in contemporary national music. Author of unmistakable hits such as "Avião de Papel" and "A Vida Toda" and winner of three Golden Globes in the categories of Song of the Year and Best Performance and a Latin GRAMMY® in the category of Best Long Version Music Video, Carolina continues to sell out venues all over the country. She recently released the double disc "CAOS / calma", which included songs such as "Vai Lá", "Saia da Carolina" and "Brincar de Ser Feliz", with which she sold out shows from north to south.
We're less than five months away from the commemorative edition of two decades of Rock in Rio Lisboa, which takes place on 15, 16, 22 and 23 June. This is a once-in-a-lifetime event that promises to go down in history. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to say you were at the festival's 20th anniversary?
