P.O.D.
June 21
The explosive fusion of 2000s rock is back in Portugal.
Recognised as one of the defining bands of their generation, P.O.D. arrive at the City of Rock on 21 June with unmatched energy and their powerful blend of hard rock, hip-hop and reggae. Driven by messages of unity, resilience and hope, they take over the Music Valley Stage — the stage that celebrates diversity and community — promising an open-air party with the spirit that has always defined them.
Formed in 1992 in San Diego, Sonny Sandoval, Marcos Curiel, Traa Daniels and Wuv Bernardo grew up in a tough neighbourhood near the Mexican border before rising to become a multi-platinum band with over 10 million records sold, three GRAMMY® nominations and sold-out tours across the globe. After years of touring in vans and playing clubs and basements, they signed with Atlantic Records in 1999 and released The Fundamental Elements of Southtown, their first major breakthrough.
That success opened the doors to Satellite (2001), the album that launched the band into worldwide fame. It debuted at #6 on the Billboard Top 200, achieved triple platinum status and delivered four iconic singles that remain fan favourites: Alive, Youth of the Nation, Boom and Satellite. Between 2002 and 2003, they received three GRAMMY® nominations, cementing their place in rock history. Throughout their career, they have collaborated with major artists including Carlos Santana, Katy Perry, Mike Muir, Page Hamilton, Cedella and Shannon Marley, Jamey Jasta and Sen Dog (Cypress Hill).
Albums like Payable on Death (2003), Testify (2006), When Angels & Serpents Dance (2008), Murdered Love (2012), The Awakening (2015) and Circles (2018) strengthened the band’s signature identity — a powerful and emotional blend that continues to resonate with new generations and rack up millions of streams on tracks such as Listening For The Silence and Always Southern California.
On stage, P.O.D. are pure energy, soul and emotional release — a band that transforms each show into a wave of positivity and collective strength. This is music to believe in, to feel, to lift your head and move forward. A raw, honest impact that unites crowds in a single voice.
