The Wailers bring 50 Years of Positive Vibration to Legends Day

02.27.2026

Reggae continues to flow into the City of Rock — and Legends Day has just gained a historic addition.

On June 27, The Wailers take to the Super Bock Stage at Rock in Rio Lisboa 2026 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the iconic album Rastaman Vibration. Originally created by Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer, and now led by Aston Barrett Jr., the Jamaican band returns to Portugal with a show that honours its legacy and the timeless power of reggae.

More than a band, The Wailers helped transform reggae into a universal language. From Kingston to the world, they created a sound defined by deep bass grooves, hypnotic drum rhythms, and a message that transcends generations — unity, awareness and positive energy.

In 2026, they celebrate half a century of an album that shaped music history. “Positive Vibration,” “Roots, Rock, Reggae,” and “War” still resonate as anthems of resistance and hope. The 50 Years of Positive Vibrations tour now arrives at the City of Rock, promising a concert that connects past and present, proving that this music remains alive, essential and absolutely contagious.

Under the direction of Aston Barrett Jr. — who recently portrayed his father in the film Bob Marley: One Love — The Wailers preserve the authenticity of their DNA while projecting it toward new generations. With recent albums such as One World and Evolution, both GRAMMY®-nominated, the band proves that legacy is not just about memory — it continues to move forward.

With this new confirmation, Legends Day on June 27 further establishes itself as a true meeting point of generations and styles. On the World Stage, Rod Stewart, Cyndi Lauper, Shaggy and 4 Non Blondes are already confirmed. At Music Valley, Xutos & Pontapés, GNR, UHF and Táxi will perform. And on the Super Bock Stage, Joss Stone, Belo, SYRO, and now The Wailers complete the lineup.
