The Jonas Brothers stand out as one of the most successful groups of the 21st century, gathering thousands of fans all over the world who grew up with them in front of the television.
The band formed by Nick, Joe and Kevin Jonas is originally from New Jersey in the USA. They formed in 2005, when they were all still underage. When they recorded their first album, "It's About Time" (2006) Kevin was 17, Joe was 15 and Nick was 12, and it was on the Disney Channel that they achieved worldwide popularity, with appearances in the series "Jonas" and the film "Camp Rock". In 2007 they released their self-titled album "Jonas Brothers", which included hits such as "S.O.S" and "Hold On", making them stand out even more in the music industry.
The Jonas Brothers, currently aged between 30 and 35, have already amassed an impressive list of achievements in their career. With more than 20 million albums sold, 26 Billboard Hot 100 hits and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the band has proven the impact they have and continue to have on the music industry. Their list of achievements includes awards such as the American Music Awards, the MTV Europe Music Awards and the Teen Choice Awards.
In 2013 the band announced a break and in 2019, ten years after their last album "Lines, Vines and Trying Times", they surprised their fans by announcing their return. They release the album "Happiness Begins", which reaches number 1 on the Billboard 200. The singles "Only Human" and "Sucker" were huge and immediate successes, the latter earning the band a Grammy nomination in the category of Best Pop Performance by a Duo/Group. With the song "Sucker", they became the first band of the 21st century to release a single that went straight to number 1 on the Hot100 chart in the USA.
Their latest album "The Album" was released in 2023 and gave rise to the global tour "The Tour", which will run throughout 2024, promising to be the biggest and longest tour of the Jonas Brothers' career. The band's concert on June 22nd at Rock in Rio Lisboa is part of this new era for the American band and marks their debut in Portugal, making it one of the must-see moments of this historic 20th anniversary edition of the festival.
