Carolina Deslandes
22nd June
Carolina Deslandes is one of the greatest artists of the current generation of Portuguese singers and songwriters. She has millions of views on YouTube and has established herself as one of the biggest references not only in the digital universe but also in contemporary Portuguese music.
Born on 27th August 1991 in Lisbon, the singer revealed her fascination with words and lyrics from an early age. At the age of 18, while still studying Languages and Literature at the University of Lisbon, she entered a talent show called "Ídolos" and immediately captured the public's attention with her powerful voice and captivating stage presence.
In 2012, she released his debut album, "Blossom", where showed her versatility as an artist, presenting a mix of musical styles ranging from pop to alternative music. But it was with the release of the album "Casa" in 2018 that she went straight to the top of the national sales charts and reached a new level of recognition. Their single "A Vida Toda" became one of the most listened to songs on Spotify in Portugal, having surpassed 12 million views on YouTube and being recognised as a Gold single.
The artist has won awards such as the Latin Grammy for Best Long Form Video for "Mulher", the Golden Globe for Best Performance for her concert at the Coliseu dos Recreios (2022) and Best Song for "Por um Triz" and "A Vida Toda".
She recently released the double disc "CAOS / calma", which included songs such as "Vai Lá", "Saia da Carolina" and "Brincar de Ser Feliz", with which sold out shows from north to south, including the Lisbon and Porto Coliseums in January 2022 and the Altice Arena in November of the following year.
Carolina Deslandes has a long history with Rock in Rio. The singer-songwriter performed for the first time at Rock in Rio Lisbon in 2018, where she took to the Music Valley, and even took to the World Stage during her friend and artist Agir's concert, to sing "Mountains" together to an emotional audience. In 2019, Carolina was part of the Galp Music Valley Sessions, together with the Brazilian band Melim, in an unprecedented concert at the Capitólio. Later that year, the Portuguese artist flew to Rock in Rio in Brazil to take part in the band's concert on the Sunset Stage.
At the celebrations for the 15th anniversary of Rock in Rio Lisbon, at the Belém Tower, the artist was also part of our story. We had to count on her presence at the 20th anniversary celebrations. That's why Carolina Deslandes is taking to the World Stage in her own right and we can't wait for 22 June!
